What to expect from Blast Off!

• The newsletter is emailed Wednesday mornings to Blast Off! Supporters (join on Patreon) and Blast Off! Subscribers on Fridays, about 50 times a year. Since many parents rely on BO!, you’ll get a heads up if we take a week off (certain times of the year, literally nothing is going on).

• Blast Off! aims for a thoughtful mix of family-oriented arts, science, nature and the outdoors in the five boroughs, as well as destinations up to two hours away. We’re not pay to play. The newsletter delivers my best takes on the weekend, so parents don’t have to comb through listings or deal with spammy websites and pop up ads.

• Speaking of combing the listings…clicking stuff only to discover it’s sold out is annoying. That is one of the great advantages of being a Supporter. Blast Off! vets the availability of events before hitting send on Wednesday. If an event is selling tickets quickly or few tickets remain, you’ll see it in the listing. 

• Your feedback is always welcome, whether an event was awesome or meh. If there are certain events or adventures you’d like to see, hit me up at blastoffkids@gmail.com. 

• In 2026, I introduced the Supporter tier on Patreon for $7 a month to help cover the expenses o running the newsletter. The basic subscription remains FREE and you can sign up for that version below.
